Vermicelli Upma - Easy To Make Quick Homemade Breakfast Recipe By Ruchi Bharani

Learn how to make Vermicelli Upma with Chef Ruchi Bharani Think of breakfast and the first quick and easy dish that pops up or mind is UPMA! Our chef Ruchi Bharani brings this yesteryear recipe with a twist. Watch the video and learn how to make Vermicelli Upma! Ingredients 1 tbsp urad dal 1 tbsp oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp asafoetida curry leaves 1 tbsp chopped garlic 1 green chilli, finely chopped 2 tbsp peanuts 1 cup vermicelli 1 onion, cut lengthwise 1/4 tsp turmeric powder salt to taste 1/2 cup grated coconut 1 tomato, finely chopped 1/4 tsp black salt coriander leaves to garnish Method: - Dry roast the vermicelli. Once it is golden brown, allow it to cool down a bit. - Heat oil in a pan and fry few peanuts. - Flavor the peanuts with black salt and red chilli powder. - Mix them well and remove them in a bowl. - Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida, finely chopped garlic, onion, finely chopped green chillies, finely chopped de-seeded tomatoes, green peas. - Cook it for few seconds and later add the vermicelli. - Add red chilli powder and black salt. - Add salt to taste. - Add boiling hot water. - Cover it and let it cook for 5 minutes. - Add turmeric powder. - Add coriander leaves and grated coconut. - Upma is ready to serve! - Serve it with grated coconut and masala peanuts. Vegetable Semiya Upma is a very south Indians house hold speciality brakefast dish and this recipie will be a easy guied for making it http://www.vahrehvah.com/vegetable-semiya-upma Ingredients: Semiya 1 cup Ghee 1 ½ tb Mustard seeds ¼ ts Cumin seeds ¼ ts Chana daal ¼ ts Urad daal ¼ ts Cashew nuts 10 g Ginger chopped ¼ ts Green chilly 4 n Curry leaves 2 sp Hing Turmeric pinch Onion chopped (medium size) 1 n Salt Carrot pieces ¼ cup Potato pieces ¼ cup Green peas ¼ cup Sweet corn ¼ cup Lime juice 1 ts Coriander chopped ½ bunch Directions: Heat ghee in a pan add semiya and roast it and keep it aside. In the same pan add ghee, mustard seeds, when mustard seeds is splutter, add chana daal, Urad daal, cashew nuts, sauté it till daals are slightly brown, add chopped ginger, chopped green chilly, curry leaves, hing, turmeric, chopped onions, salt, sauté it for a minute and add carrot, potatoes, green pea, sweet corn, mix it well, add water, once it comes to boil add semiya, mix it and put the lid on let it cook for 2 minutes, then sprinkle the lime juice & coriander chopped put the lid on and let it cook for one more minute the switch off the flame.
