How to make Vettu Cake English translation (in description box)

Ingredients: All purpose flour / Maida – 2 cup Sugar – ¾ cup (Powdered) Cardamom – 6 (Powdered) Egg – 2 Baking powder – ½ tsp Salt – A pinch Oil – 2-3 drops Steps: Mix sugar, cardamom and egg. Add baking powder and salt mix well. Add maida in batches and mix well to make a dough. Add oil and make a dough of roti dough consistency. Cover and let it rest for an hour. Grease the rested dough with some oil. Shape the dough into an elongated log/pipe. Using a knife, cut the dough into 1" thick square pieces. You can also cut it into triangles. Make two deep cuts making a cross on each square piece. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry over medium heat until golden. Flip and cook both sides. Enjoy the vettu cake. It tastes better the next day. ngredients : Cooked rice - 1 cup Rice flour - 1 cup Cumin seeds - 3/4 tbsp Black sesame seeds - 1/2 tbsp Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 tsp Salt Oil - 1 tbsp Oil - For deep frying Method: Grind cooked rice and rice flour in batches without adding water. Transfer it to a wide bowl. You should be able to make a smooth ball out of it. That is the right consistency. Add cumin seeds, black sesame seeds, asafoetida , salt and 1 tbsp oil and make a soft dough out of it. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Use the star nozzle in the idiyappam press. Fill the press with the dough and press it as a straight line on to a wooden board. Carefully make spiral shape out of the pressed dough. Slightly press the open end towards the inner layer. Repeat it for the rest for the dough. Heat oil in a pan and gently transfer the shaped dough to the hot oil. Fry til golden on both sides. Fry in batches. Enjoy!
