Take Ethiopia for example, due to their Christian Faith periods of fasting, meaning a vegan diet take place throughout their year, thus creating many recipes and dished that are suitable for vegans. The same in many ways can also be said about Indian culture and Rastafari.
Vegetables, beans, pulses and some grains are suitable for vegan and even gluten free diets. Teff (Tef) is the smallest grain in the world and is 100% free of gluten, manly used and grown in Ethiopia East Afica, it is what Injera or Enjera is made from. A sough dough flat pancake bread. Rice flour is also a great way to remain free of gluten. Foods made from grains (and grain-like plants) that do notcontain harmful gluten, including: Corn in all forms (corn flour, corn meal, grits,etc.). Rice in all forms (white, brown, basmati and enriched rice). Also amaranth, buckwheat (kasha), Montina, millet, quinoa, teff, sorghum and soy.
A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes gluten, a protein composite found in wheat and related grains, including barley and rye. Veganism /ˈviːɡənɪzəm/ is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, as well as following an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals. A follower of veganism is known as a vegan.
