I have never been able to make a cake, even a box mix. I know, I know, who can't bake a simple box mix? ME! that's who I discovered a recipe for a homemade cake mix, I tweeked it to work for us. The best part, you can pronounce all of the ingredients too :-) Mix all of the dry ingredients together and store in an air tight container. This will last a very long time. 8 cups flour 6 cups sugar 1/4 cup baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons salt When ready to bake a cake: 4 cups mix 1 cup milk 1/2 cup soft butter 2 eggs 1 teaspoon the flavoring of your choice Mix all the ingredients together. Grease the pan well (I use the butter wrapper), pour the cake batter in & bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean For variety, add cocoa, different spices or flavoring, fruit.
