AT&T Switched Ethernet-Network on Demand: Add Port

Learn how easy it is to provision and manage your Ethernet service using AT&T Network on Demand. We'll show you how to add sites, ports, and Ethernet virtual circuits, or EVCs, using Network on Demand. For More Information: https://soc.att.com/2NqlnI6 Video Transcript: Managing your Ethernet service just got easier when you use AT&T Switched Ethernet Service with Network on Demand. In this video, we'll show you how to quickly add a new port to your Ethernet service. In a separate video, we’ll show you how to add an Ethernet Virtual Connection or EVC. Now, let’s get started. On the Business Center homepage, click “Manage.”Under “Network”, click “View All Inventory.” You’ll see a list of existing locations for all your services. To add a new port to an existing location, expand the “Actions” menu and click “Add service.” You may also have “pre-qualified” locations. This means AT&T Switched Ethernet on demand is available at that address. To add a new port to a pre-qualified location, expand the location, then in the “Actions” menu, click “Create order.” In this example, we’ll add a port to a new location. First, click “Add location” at the top of the page. Select the type of service you want to add, and then enter the address for the new service. Click "Continue.” If the address is valid and qualifies for the service, you’ll see a confirmation message. Otherwise, you can enter a new address. Click “Continue” to add the location to your inventory. If your company has multiple contracts for AT&T Switched Ethernet with Network on Demand, select the contract you want associated with this new port. If there’s only one contract, click “Continue." Now, we’ll add the port details. Enter details about the location of the port and click “Continue.” Next, specify the port settings. First, set the bandwidth of the port. Remember—the bandwidth determines how much data can flow through the port. Next, select the type of port interface supported by your equipment, then select the class of service that meets your network performance needs. Choose whether you want AT&T to install the inside wiring. This option is only available if you have a contract for Entrance Facility Construction (EFC). If you select the checkbox and the site engineer determines work is needed, AT&T will perform the work and bill you according to your contract. If you do not select the checkbox and work is needed, you will be responsible for performing the work. Finally, designate whether the port will be associated with a single EVC or multiple EVCs, and, whether 10% or more of your network traffic originates or terminates outside the state. When you’ve finished customizing your settings, click “Continue", then click “OK” on the success message. There’s still an “Action needed”, so expand the “Contacts” section. Click the edit icon next to “Building contact” to assign someone ... then click “Save”, and click “OK” on the success message. Next, assign a “Location technical contact.” You can add someone new or you can add the same person you assigned as the “Building contact.” Then, click “Save.” After the order is saved, you can review the details by clicking “Review order.” Note that you cannot select an install date for the new port at this time. When you’re done reviewing, click "Submit order", and the order is confirmed. Check your email for order updates. Within 3-8 business days, we’ll notify you in Business Center of an activation date for the new port. So be sure to check your “Messages” for an alert. If you want to change the date or any other order details, click the “Order status details” link. You’ll see the “Order Status” page, and you can make any changes there. After the port has been activated, you can order a new connection or EVC. Use the original charger to maintain optimal battery performance over the life of the device. The battery comes partially charged. When new, a fully discharged battery requires up to minutes to charge from to and up to minutes to charge from to You can use the device while charging. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings. While charging, the Charging icon will be displayed in the Notification bar. The device has a standby time of up to days and hours, and a use talk time of up to hours. View Battery Usage. To view the device's battery usage, swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Settings icon. Select the General tab, then select "Battery". The apps and features that are consuming battery will be displayed at the bottom of the screen under "APP USAGE". To view the battery usage details of a particular app or feature, scroll to and select the desired app or feature. Select "Battery usage" to view additional battery usage details. Conserve Battery Life. To turn on Battery Saver Mode, from the Battery screen select "Battery saver", select either "Extended" or "Maximum". You can also conserve battery life by adjusting the device's display settings. From the Settings screen select the Display tab, then scroll to and select the Auto switch to disable auto-brightness. Select and drag the Brightness slider to the left. To set a shorter screen timeout, from the Display tab select "Screen timeout", select the desired option. To turn off live wallpapers, from the Display tab select "Wallpaper & theme", then navigate to and select the desired option that is not a live wallpaper. Disable features when not in use to help conserve battery life. From the Home screen, swipe down from the Notification bar with two fingers. If enabled, select "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" or "NFC" to turn them off. Swipe left, then select "Location" to turn off location services. To turn off Auto Sync, from the Settings screen select the General tab, then select "Accounts", select the Auto sync accounts switch. If disabling Auto Sync, remember to turn it back on to allow apps to download new emails or social media posts. To disable apps from auto-updating, from the Home screen select the Play Store app, select the Menu icon, then scroll to and select "Settings". Select "Auto-update apps" then select "Do not auto-update apps". If you are traveling and do not have access to mobile or Wi-Fi networks, switch to Airplane Mode, swipe down from the Notification bar, then select the Airplane Mode icon, select "TURN ON" to confirm.
