Rose momos recipe/ chicken dumplings recipe

Rose momos recipe is a dumpling with chicken based stuffing, shaped to look like a rose, ie with dough petals. This can be a perfect valentine's day surprise for your love.Those interested in food art would love this recipe too. There are three layers of dough cover(wrapper) in each mo:mo for it to look like a rose. So making very thin wrappers is useful. You can make these mo:mo roses just by themselves or with the other mo:mos to enhance the look of the mo:mo plate. Especially when you are making for especial guests. These are also best if you are cooking for your someone especial, it would be a good surprise.,, SOME NOTES: 1) The key to make the best rose dough petals is a bit tough dough rolled into a very thin wrapper. But don't be tempted to make the dough too hard (you might end in hard petals) 2) Here I have used three sizes of circles to give the exact rose look. You can even use circles of same size if you are not a perfectionist. It turns out almost equally well. 3) As there are three layers of dough you have to steam the momos for a slightly longer time than the regular mo:mos. 4) I don't prefer adding any salt in the dough, as the momo stuffings is salty plus we are going to dip in salty mo:mo sauce. INGREDIENTS: for the dough: 1)all purpose flour 250 gm 2)oil 1 tsp 3) water 125 ml for the stuffing: 1)mustard oil 1 tbsp (if not available you can use any cooking oil) 2)butter 1 tsp 3)ginger garlic paste 2 tsp 4)coriander(dhaniya) powder 1/2 tsp 5)cumin(jeera) powder 1/2 tsp 6)mo:mo masala/ meat masala 1 tsp 7)turmeric powder 1/4 tsp 9)chicken mince (keema) 250 gm 10)onion (very finely chopped) 80 gm 11) fenugreed (methi) leaves (very finley chopped) 3/4 cup 12) salt 3/4 tsp Do try this recipe and comment how it turns out. Marinated chicken pieces skewed between a thin potato slice and deep fried to make this interesting snack. BUTTERFLY CHICKEN - (Serves - 4) Ingredients 400 grams boneless chicken, cut into 1 inch pieces 2 medium potatoes, cut into thin slices 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste Salt to taste Crushed black peppercorns to taste 1 teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon chaat masala Black salt to taste 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon red chilli sauce 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 tablespoon red chilli paste 1 tablespoon butter 3 tablespoons cornflour 3 tablespoons refined flour (maida) Oil for deep-frying Method 1. Put chicken pieces in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, salt, crushed peppercorns, chilli powder, chaat masala, black salt, soy sauce, red chilli sauce, lemon juice, red chilli paste and butter and mix well. Add cornflour and refined flour, mix well and set aside to marinate for 2 hours. 2. Skew some chicken stuffing in the centre of each potato slice. 3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the skewed pieces till golden-brown. Drain on absorbent paper. 4. Serve hot with Szechuan chutney.
